She is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter, who was the lead guitarist in The All-Girl Hard Rock Band, The Runaways, in the latter part of 1970s.Their rock-star sound and raucous songs helped them gain attention throughout the rock world. Though the band didn't have much success in the United States, they were hugely popular in other countries. This was especially true in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy-metal career following the breakup of her group in 1979. She started taking voice classes and soon released her first album 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Ford disappeared from the world of music for some years following both albums failing to make it into the charts. In 1988, she returned to the spotlight with the album that became a huge hit "Lita". Both the single "Kiss My Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" became huge hits. The problem was that her popularity was brief as she disappeared for a few years. Her "Black" album was released in 1995. Her 'Wicked Wonderland" album came out almost 15 years later. The year was 2016, and her most recent album, 'Time Capsule, it was released. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
